Happy New Year From NAIFA!
We hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season, and we wish you a very healthy, happy and prosperous 2014.
As we consider the past year, we are proud of the services NAIFA delivered to our members in many areas. We faced unprecedented legislative and regulatory challenges, including the Affordable Care Act, agent licensing legislation and potential standard of care regulations. NAIFA ensured that key lawmakers remain educated about the valuable products and services you provide and informed of the impact their decisions have on your ability to continue to secure the financial futures of 75 million American families. Also in 2013, NAIFA expanded our outreach to you by providing benefits worth millions of dollars to help you grow your business.
But rather than dwell on last year’s successes, we are focused on the future and strategic execution of our mission to keep you in business, help you grow your business and promote the ethical standards of our industry.
Keeping You in Business
As a NAIFA member, you belong to the premier advocacy association for insurance industry professionals. We recognize that the backbone of our strength is our membership, which includes voters, taxpayers and business owners in every U.S. congressional district. We have among our membership key contacts for over 98 percent of the members of Congress. We cannot overstate our appreciation to you, our members, for your support.
There is much on legislative and regulatory agendas at both state and national levels that could threaten your ability to stay in business. NAIFA will continue to ensure that lawmakers and regulators know the value of life insurance, annuities, retirement products, health plans and employee benefits to the families and businesses you serve.
As a key part of this effort, we hope you will join us in Washington, D.C., May 20-21 for the 2014 NAIFA Congressional Conference, when we will take our message directly to Congress.
Growing Your Business
NAIFA will continue to offer important benefits in 2014. Surveys and analysis reveal a 49 percent increase in the use of NAIFA member benefits in 2013. By focusing on products and programs most relevant to NAIFA members and their practices, we will extend the reach of NAIFA member benefits even further in 2014.
Also in 2014, NAIFA plans to update and modernize the curriculum for the LUTCF program. We are committed to the LUTCF for those who hold this important designation and those who will earn it in the future.
Finally, we would like to thank you for supporting NAIFA through your membership. Our dedicated members are our strongest asset and the ultimate source of our success. We would like to express additional gratitude to those who give a little extra, whether by contributing to the PAC, attending the Congressional Conference, serving on a committee or giving time and expertise as a local, state or national volunteer leader or executive. We share the common goal of providing the best possible service and promoting the interests of financial professionals and our industry. Together, we can be NAIFA Proud.
As we enter our 125th year of existence, let’s make it our best year ever!
