Cover story: Multiline Building a Better Agency

By Troy Korsgaden

There's a great scene in the movie, "The Karate Kid," where the old instructor, Mr. Miyagi has given a challenge to his student. The young man is to leap from a rock, turning full circle mid-air to land on one foot on another rock. It sounds simple, but is actually very difficult to do. The wise instructor was trying to impart a valuable truth to his student saying, "The key to life is balance."

Lighter Side of Life: Legal in All 50 States!

Ed W. Ramsell ll, CLU

Scrounging through my Funny Stuff file recently, I re-discovered what is arguably the greatest piece of creative marketing copy in the English language: a 1989 ad for the "GFX-100." The parenthetical comments are mine. Otherwise, I didn't change a word. Honest!

Dennis R. Merideth, CLU, ChFC, NAIFA president

We're still the financial advisor's number one advocate.

The guiding principles of our organization-advocacy, education and reputation-are as relevant and essential today as they have been at any time in our history. If NAIFA and its conferences don't continue to champion agent and advisor issues on Capitol Hill, then who will?
