By William A. Slawter, LUTCF People who have no immediate family say they see no need for life insurance. I ask those people if they go to a church. Ninety-nine out of 100 tell me yes, they have some religious affiliation. Then I ask them if they tithe, which is a 10 percent contribution, or I ask how much they contribute. Would they mind if I showed them a way to make a large lump-sum contribution to their church at a very low cost? What I've done is show them the need or desire to provide for someone when they originally felt there was no need. Occasionally there will be no religious interest. Then I ask if they ever went to school, joined a youth organization, the local YMCA or YWCA or the Scouts. In other words, if they've ever benefited from a nonprofit organization in the past, they can now turn around and contribute to that group through life insurance. We need your sales ideas!
