NAIFA Launches Midwest Office to Strengthen Member Offerings, Support Expanded Services

Integration of Iowa-based The Grassley Group advances NAIFA 20/20 Strategic Plan to improve quality member experience

FALLS CHURCH, Va. — The Board of Trustees of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) has reached an agreement with The Grassley Group (TGG), an association management services provider located in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to integrate TGG into NAIFA’s Membership and Association Services Team.

“The NAIFA 20/20 Strategic Plan calls for modernization of the NAIFA structure with a proactive, deliberate and strategic approach in association management and operations,” said NAIFA President Keith Gillies, CFP, CLU, ChFC. “The Board’s decision to create the NAIFA Midwest Office will improve efficiency and bolster delivery of a quality membership experience across the enterprise. We’re pleased to welcome TGG to the NAIFA family.”

Effective Feb. 1, 2018, NAIFA integrated the 11-member TGG staff into the association’s existing Membership and Association Services Team to create one nimble, cross-functioning unit that leverages the skills and experience of both staff groups. At the same time, NAIFA is taking on the management of TGG’s NAIFA association clients. This initiative positions NAIFA to operate more effectively in the areas of membership recruitment and retention, customer service, data processing, member communications and programs, member engagement, and association management services. The office in Iowa will be referred to as the “NAIFA Midwest Office.”

“We are excited to bring so many talented and experienced individuals from The Grassley Group into the NAIFA-National fold,” said NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux. “This integration gives us resources to grow membership, improve association operations, increase non-dues revenue, and build specialty centers and other new initiatives to bolster NAIFA’s quality member experience.”

In 2016, NAIFA retained TGG and appointed Michele Grassley Clarke as NAIFA’s Vice President of Membership and Association Services, with TGG staff supporting Clarke along with NAIFA-National staff. The integration plan announced today is the next step in enhancing NAIFA’s membership and association services programs.

TGG has provided association management services for NAIFA–California, NAIFA–Greater Washington, D.C., NAIFA–Iowa and NAIFA–Wisconsin. TGG staff brings experience serving NAIFA members, delivering member programs, creating membership marketing communications, planning and providing on-site support at association meetings, and developing professional development offerings. They also have a working understanding of the NAIFA association governance structure and the compliance requirements for association accounting and PAC functions.

“The NAIFA 20/20 Strategic Plan has a primary goal of providing members a consistent experience in our delivery of messaging, as well as exceptional events, programs, and services,” Mayeux added. “Integrating The Grassley Group is another important step in the five-year implementation of NAIFA 20/20. We look forward to the expanded service offerings that will soon be available to NAIFA members across the country.”
